Effortless Daily Cleaning Routine: Maintain a Clean and Inviting Home

clean home

Cleaning a home can be challenging, especially if you dislike cleaning. The challenge is even greater if some more people or pets live just in your home.

The fastest way to achieve a clean home is to divide your tasks based on the room in the house. Pick a room and stay focused on completely cleaning it before transitioning to another room. Skipping around cleaning in different rooms will only slow you down. By staying focused on one room, you can stay productive in that room and work as fast as you can to get it fully clean.

In what order do you clean your house?

Clean your home in the order of messiest room first. Tackling the messiest room first helps to mitigate stress as you continue the cleaning process. The messiest rooms are the ones where the most activity occurs. Once you clean the messiest rooms first, cleaning up the lesser dirty rooms will be a breeze after that.

Usually, I clean the kitchen first, then the living room, then the bathroom, and finally, the bedroom. The kitchen and living room are the two rooms in which my two-year-old daughter and I spend most of our time at home, so I always start there when it’s time to clean. When I start cleaning a room, I follow my steps to an overall clean home.

What are the steps to clean a house?

Complete a set of tasks in one room before moving on to another room. For the kitchen, clean and put away dishes and clean and sanitize surfaces and floors. For the living room, restore it back in the original presentation before leaving it for the night. In the morning, make your bed before exiting the bedroom. For the bathroom, wipe down surfaces every 1-2 days and clean toilets and bathtubs once a week.

How long should it take to clean a house?

As long as you clean as you go, cleaning a house or apartment should take no more than 1 to 1.5 hours. It ultimately depends on the size of the areas you have to clean, how many people live in your home, and if you have any cleaning helpers that chip in on the household chores.

For me, basic household duties should take no more than an hour. It’s only my daughter and I living in a one-bedroom apartment with not much space to keep tidy. The main concern is usually the kitchen if I let the dishes pile up for too long.

How do you clean your house like a pro?

Clean your home like a pro by adopting the habit of cleaning as you go. As you cook, clean the dishes you just used. As you wash a load of laundry, fold and put away the clean load.

Always have a daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning routine that you set yourself to keep organized. Daily tasks could include dishes and general tidying. Weekly routines can be established to get laundry done. A monthly routine can be the deep cleaning of your fridge, baseboards, and windows and blinds.
